Education law SYMPOSIUM 2024

The Pennsylvania School Study Council at Pennsylvania State University College of Education, in partnership with the Beard Legal Group, will hold its second annual Special Education Law Symposium on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Each year for the past five years (except during COVID in 2020), close to 1,000 due process complaints were filed with the Office for Dispute Resolution (ODR).  Many get resolved without going to hearing but we are all aware the cost of getting there can be very high.

To that end, Districts need to be more proactive in an effort to minimize claims and costs associated with the delivery of educational programming to identified students.

Once again, we are proud to offer a variety of topics and presenters to address key aspects of special education services.

The conference is specifically designed for Pennsylvania administrators and will cover important and timely topics from both the state and federal level that impact day to day operations. Content and discussions will be most appropriate for Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Directors of Special Education and Student Services, School Psychologists, Intermediate Unit Administrators, Building Principals and other educators tasked with overseeing the delivery of special education services.
